Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Time to rest while breathing oxygen in a chamber pressurized above atmospheric pressure. Here is how a single session unfolds, just as it is.
What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen?
Hyperbaric oxygen is known as a treatment in which you breathe oxygen inside a dedicated chamber maintained at a pressure higher than normal atmospheric pressure.
At Cheongdam The Cell Clinic, we approach it from the perspective of whole-body conditioning and rest. Whether to proceed, the pressure, and the duration are not fixed; they are determined for each individual after a prior consultation and assessment. Perceived response and suitability may vary by individual.
pressure, oxygen, and rest —
When You Need This Kind of Rest
The following are general examples; whether to proceed is determined through a prior consultation and assessment of your condition.
- ResetWhen you need quiet recovery amid a busy schedule
- FatigueWhen fatigue has built up and you want to look after your condition
- Around careWhen you want whole-body conditioning before or after a treatment
- PauseWhen you need a moment of doing nothing at all
How a Single Session Unfolds
Once the door closes and the lights dim, the session begins without any rush. Below is how a single session flows, from entry to decompression. The length and structure of each stage are explained individually during your consultation.
a book · quiet music · dimmed light · deep rest
- minute zeroArrival
Entry
Wearing comfortable clothing, you enter the dedicated chamber and settle in. You adjust your position with a blanket and cushions, and once the door closes, the lights dim a step. We confirm in advance how to communicate during the session.
- the first minutesPressurize
Pressurization
The pressure inside the chamber rises slowly. Your ears may feel blocked, as during an airplane's takeoff or landing, so we will guide you through ways to ease it, such as swallowing or yawning. How strongly this is felt differs from person to person.
- the quiet middleRest
Resting Phase
This is the longest part of the session. Inside the chamber at the target pressure, you breathe oxygen while reading, listening to music, or simply resting with your eyes closed. There is nothing you need to do. Resting is all this time is for.
- toward the endDecompress
Decompression
The pressure gradually returns to normal atmospheric pressure. This is done with ample time so nothing ends abruptly; once the door opens, we check how you feel, go over the next steps in your care, and conclude the session.
Changes in condition and how you feel after the session may vary by individual, and session length and frequency are adjusted individually after assessing your condition.

To help you stay comfortable even inside a sealed, pressurized chamber, we have set out our principles for operation, hygiene, and communication just as they are.
- Private
Private Dedicated Chamber
Each session is for one person only, ensuring an undisturbed personal space.
- Hygiene
Hygiene Between Sessions
Items that touch the skin, such as blankets and cushions, are tidied and cared for between sessions before preparing for the next one.
- Always reachable
Constant Communication
Even during the session, you can reach us at any time using the method explained to you, and we adjust to your personal pace.
- Checked first
Prior Condition Check
Every session begins only after a prior consultation and condition check, so it proceeds without strain.
The above describes our operational and hygiene procedures; how you feel and how well you adapt during the session may vary by individual.
What We Check Together Before a Session
Because hyperbaric oxygen takes place in an environment where pressure changes, how you perceive and adapt to those changes — such as a blocked feeling in the ears — may differ from person to person. Depending on individual health conditions, it may not be recommended, so every session is conducted only after a prior consultation and condition check.
If you feel any discomfort during the session, just let us know at any time using the method explained to you. Sessions are adjusted to your individual condition, and specific details, including pricing, will be provided during your private consultation.

Your Time Inside the Chamber
For both the 30-minute and 60-minute formats, we let you know in advance what you will actually be doing during the session.
- There Is Nothing You Need to Do
Simply read, listen to music, or close your eyes and rest. It is a time with nothing you have to do.
- If Your Ears Feel Blocked
You may feel a blocked sensation while the pressure rises or falls. We will show you in advance how swallowing can help, and please let us know at any time if you feel uncomfortable.
- After the Session
After taking ample time to return the pressure to normal, we check how you feel and conclude the session. You can usually continue with your day right away.
Suitability and session structure are determined after a prior consultation and condition check, and responses may vary by individual.
FAQ
What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?
It is known as a treatment in which you breathe oxygen inside a dedicated chamber maintained at a pressure higher than normal atmospheric pressure. At Cheongdam The Cell Clinic, we approach it from the perspective of whole-body conditioning and rest, and whether to proceed, as well as the pressure and duration, are explained individually after a prior consultation and assessment.
What effects can I expect?
Because how people feel and respond can differ, it is difficult to promise any specific effect. Sessions are conducted from the perspective of restful conditioning, and the approach suited to your condition and goals is worked out together through consultation. Response and suitability may vary by individual.
How does a session work?
After you enter, the session flows through pressurization, as the chamber pressure slowly rises; a resting phase, breathing oxygen at the target pressure; and decompression, as the pressure returns to atmospheric level. It proceeds without rush, and during the session you can read, listen to music, or simply rest.
How often should I have sessions?
Rather than following a fixed schedule, it depends on your condition, goals, and any programs you combine it with. The recommended frequency and number of sessions will be explained individually after a prior consultation and condition check.
I am worried about the pressure changes. Will I be okay?
Your ears may feel blocked during pressurization and decompression, so we will guide you through ways to ease it, such as swallowing or yawning. However, depending on your health condition, it may not be recommended, so every session is conducted only after a prior consultation and condition check. How you feel and adapt may vary by individual.
